About Humboldt State University

Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA short named HSU. was founded in 1913, starting with 78 students and 5 faculty staff, as a teacher's college, by the Californian Governor of the time, Hiram Johnson. Seven years later the school was renamed Humboldt State Teacher's College and Junior College and moved to the grounds where it stands today.
